Leon Trice Louisiana Political Photographs
DescriptionThis collection of Louisiana political photographs spans the 1920s through the 1940s; most of the photographs are from the late 1920s through the 1930s. It depicts many of Louisiana's most famous elected officials in a variety of situations: campaigning, at home with family, in staged photo opportunities, at work, and even lying in repose. Among the political leaders featured are Huey P. Long, Earl Long, Richard Leche, O.K. Allen, and others. Leon Trice was a New Orleans area photographer active from 1920 to 1972. He worked for the New Orleans States newspaper and later for the Associated Press. He also ran his own studio.
