Latin American Writers Series

Description

The Latin American Writers Series explores the world of contemporary Latin American literature through the lens of its creators and publishers. It lays the foundation for a transhemispheric conversation about the role and scope of literature today. Constructed around a core of filmed interviews, presentations, and readings, it brings together rare, ephemeral, and difficult-to-access materials into a significant resource for both research and pedagogy. The materials included suggest new ways of thinking about contemporary Latin American writing as they shed light on the principal concerns, primary inspirations, and external influences shaping the creative endeavor.

This ongoing digital humanities project is sponsored by the Stone Center for Latin American studies at Tulane and led by Ecuadorian writer and Tulane alumnus Gabriela Alemán. All recordings and materials are included with the express permission of the featured authors and editors.
