The main feature at Astashovo is the Terem, a large wooden mansion built at the end of the 19th century by Ivan Sazonov, a peasant who made a fortune in the St. Petersburg building boom. The terem is a complex, intricately designed dacha with influences from the national revival and urban architecture of the 19th century. The restoration of the abandoned Terem was completed in 2016.
