A letter from Daniel P. Mason written to his sister Mary while he was stationed at Camp Parapet in Carrollton, Louisiana. Daniel responds to a previous letter from Mary and says that he will include this with another letter he has written to their mother. He mentions that he received the eight stamps she sent. Daniel goes on to express how much he wishes his sister could see the beautiful banks of the Mississippi. He also mentions Lieutenant Durgin, Deerfield, William (being alive), and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt. He adds that Mrs. Hoyt was asking about whether or not they had Bibles.
