A letter from Daniel P. Mason to his mother written on "15th Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers" stationary while stationed at Camp N.P. Banks. Daniel writes that he is having a "first rate time out here in Jamaica [New York]." He mentions that his tent mates are D.P. Watson, S.T. Dow, [?].J.F. Looch and James Bryant. Daniel writes that breakfast and dinner consist of mostly of fresh beef while supper consists of cheese and bread. He explains that there are 15 regiments within 12 miles of his. Toward the bottom of the letter he includes two short notes to his sisters Mary and Abby.
