Pierson expresses his concern regarding the smallpox epidemic in Bienville Parish and about the blue cloth he sent which failed to reach home. He goes onto write about how he had drawn a full uniform with a gray jacket and blue pants. he also mentions that money ha been scarce and reports that goods were sold at auction every day.
