This item contains a signature of Claude Bernard (b.1813-d.1878), a French physiologist. The intimate connection between the brain and the heart was enunciated by Claude Bernard. He studied the chemical and physiological study of digestion and liver function, along with experimental section of nerves and studies on sympathetic nerves.
