Fragment from a larger census document for towns in northern Morelos painted on European paper, c. 1550-1600. The first page includes annotations in Spanish for the town of Tlalnepantla, a community of Tepoztlán. Information for nine neighboring towns follows. The data were recorded using the Aztec pictorial system to count houses, baptized men, widowers, widows with tears in their eyes, marriagable boys and girls, and younger children. A Spanish summary appears on the last page. The existence of the rest of the document is unknown.
