Lienzo of Coixtlahuaca no. 1

Description

A tracing made by Nicolás León on architect's paper of a 16th century cartographic and historical manuscript related to the Coixtlahuaca Basin in Oaxaca. It has two large place glyphs and figures of native people in the center with numerous place signs, dates, a river, and images of indigenous people and Spaniards on horseback around the borders. It was probably done between 1890 and 1892.

Un calco hecho por Nicolás León sobre papel de arquitecto de un manuscrito histórico y cartográfico del siglo diecíseis relacionado con la cuenca de Coixtlahuaca en Oaxaca. Tiene dos topónimos grandes con figuras de indígenas en el centro. Alrededor de ellos hay varios topónimos, fechas, un río, y figuras de indígenas y españoles a caballo. Probablemente se hizo entre 1890 y 1892.
