The quotation on the front of the postal cover comes from a poem written by American poet Fitz-Greene Halleck entitled 'Marco Bozzaris'. The poem celebrates Marco Bozzaris, a famous nineteenth-century Greek leader in Greeces fight for independence against Turkey. The quotation embodies a call to liberty and patriotism.
