Handwritten note from Wm. Russell: "One view with neighborhood girl and her dog, who wanted-in on the photo….This hall is on a downtown-lake corner (catacorner from a grocery story) near La. Ave., between Mag. St. and the river, and a block or two down from La. Ave. It possibly is at the coner of Laurel + Toledano, or Pleasant St. or therabouts. [When driving downtown someday, go by there + try to locate it before it's torn down, but don't drive down a 1-way st. the wrong way.].... Bands from at least the time Celestin, until Kid Thomas played here... Torn down about summer of '65"
