This thesis looks at all the funding mechanisms that are available presently in the British Caribbean, defined as islands that were former British colonies. The analysis includes case studies that highlight existing systems and provide recommendations on how these can be supplemented. The recommendations also involve funding mechanisms that are being used internationally, what is being done regionally, and what can be implemented in the British Caribbean and investigates how funding mechanisms can be combined and maximized to provide a wider approach to funding. For the wide range of architectural heritage that the Caribbean has, no single mechanism will work.
