This series of 4 Kodachrome slides from July 1970 is a founding part of the "Brumfield miracle"--among the first photographs taken by a rank amateur with little knowledge of either photography or Russian architecture. Their exquisite beauty is all the more poignant in that much here recorded has changed for the worse, particularly this sublime courtyard park, which has been replaced by a tent cafe.
