Kenneth Jackson is interviewed in the interior of the shuttered Dew Drop Inn, and filmed walking among the club’s debris. There are exterior shots of LaSalle Street, outside the club, and of the nearby Magnolia Housing Project. Jackson and Jim Russell are filmed discussing the Dew Drop Inn, both outdoors on LaSalle Street and inside the venue. As a white man who booked Black entertainers, Russell recalls Frank Painia securing his services to book music artists at Painia’s club, which served a Black clientele during pre-integration New Orleans. This footage features different camera angles of the content from HJA093_4.
