Because the City Council had recently learned that the body of a deceased person had been buried at the perimeter of Faubourg Marigny in contravention of the law, it now restated Articles 14 and 15, which related to burials. Article 14 prohibited the burial of bodies in churches and other public meeting places. Article 15 provided for the establishment of cemeteries, which were to be fenced in. The Council invited the public to report to the Mayor other violations of the burial laws.
