Preservation practice
Description
To fulfill the remaining requirements of the Masters of Preservation Studies, I worked at Preservation Design Partnership (PDP), a Philadelphia-based firm who specializes in architecture, historic preservation, and planning, for the summer of 2022. I joined the team working on the comprehensive renovation of the Kentucky State Capitol located in Frankfurt, Kentucky. The PDP team includes George C. Skarmaes, PhD, FAIA, FAPT, NCARB, AICP; Kelly Vreslovic, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB; Jacob Elisii, Architecture Intern; Illona Prodan, Architecture Intern; and Priyanka Gorasia, Preservation Intern. The PDP team worked close with the lead architecture firm on the project, EOP, a Kentucky-based architecture firm. When I joined the team, the team was wrapping up the Schematic Design Phase. I spent three months primarily working in the AutoDesk Revit model producing drawings for the Monumental Spaces, modeling families for the Monumental Spaces, three dimensionally modeling the existing windows, and documenting the existing doors, hardware, and trim on the first, second, and third floor.
