According to Linda Schele, this portion of the inscription continues that from the Central panel to include the history of K'inich Janaab Pakal. The text projects the anniversary dates of his birth and death into the distant past and future, and records major events in the history of his reign. K'inich Kan Bahlam II, Pakal's son and heir, had the inscription finished as it records Pakal's death and his accession to the throne of Palenque.
