Sides of the Hieroglyphic Bench 1

Description

Drawings of the hieroglyphic inscription on the sides of Bench 1 from the South Subterranean Building of the Palenque Palace Complex. According to David Stuart, it notes the depiction of the Starry Deer Alligator. It [the bench] resided in the house of K'inich Janaab Pakal, and was dedicated shortly after the k'atun ending of 9.11.0.0.0. (12 October, 652 CE).
