Upon orders from Governor Unzaga, the Surveyor General of the Province of Louisiana, Lieutenant Nicolas François Le Grand Chevalier De Bellevüe, accompanied by Captain Verret, Commandant of the Acadian post, proceeded to the property of Jean Mouton to survey the land and establish boundaries. The tract situated on the Côte des Acadiens on the right bank of the Mississippi, was bounded by lands of Mr. DeLery and Louis Mouton.
