Spaces at Howard-Tilton Memorial Library (Video)

  • - [Student 1] Yeah, I like the library.
  • - [Student 2] I like to spend a lot of time there, in between classes.
  • - [Student 3] It was really crucial for me to have that place to go to,
  • to really buckle down and do my work.
  • - [Student 4] I love sitting on the first floor of the library
  • because I love the natural sunlight.
  • I love watching all the people walking around,
  • and kind of like that it's a little bit more busy.
  • It makes me feel less like I'm kind of trapped studying.
  • - [Student 5] Plenty of room to talk.
  • Plenty of space to sit down, hang out, drink some coffee.
  • - [Student 6] I'm a fourth floor guy.
  • I like to spend a lot of my time, up in the stacks, on the fourth floor.
  • I tend to do most of my homework up there.
  • It's a quiet space with a lot of different seating options.
  • I've got couches and desks.
  • - The Latin American Library, this is a really good resource
  • for students studying anthropology, art history, archeology, you name it.
  • It has one of the best collections for materials related to that.
  • - [Student 8] I like to come up to the library to study,
  • especially the sixth floor, because one, it's very quiet.
  • And two, I get a view of exactly where I want to be.
  • I like to look down and kind of appreciate the fact that I get to learn here
  • and study here.
  • - [Student 9] I can always look up and look out over the skyline of New Orleans.
  • What's better than that?
  • - [Student 10] My favorite part of the library is the study spaces
  • that are upstairs.
  • I like the fact that I can come together with friends
  • in other majors and other students in other majors to work on projects.
  • - [Student 11] All right, so, I like sitting at those high tables on the third
  • floor because it's like a really quiet area. It's a great place to study.
  • - [Student 12] I don't think I could have finished my thesis
  • without my graduate carrel. It was a place to focus away from distractions.
  • - [Student 13] When I get hungry, I go down to the basement
  • and I go to those vending machines. I just get some snacks and drinks.
  • - [Student 14] Around 8:00 at night, you can't get into Howie-T
  • unless you have a Tulane ID.
  • I like the fact that we have to swipe in, it makes me feel safe.
  • - [Student 15] There's a space for you at Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.
