The balls depicted are celebrations of the Bon Temps organization, one of New Orleans' oldest African American Carnival societies. Members display a variety of internationally themed costumes, including sombreros, sedge hats, and leis. Others wear fairy tale themed costumes. They promenade through the room, dance, and limbo. Themes include "Caribbean Holiday." A live band performs and there are many shots of the audience in their costumes.
