Black and white film of a Tulane football game played in Tulane Stadium against University of Alabama on September 30, 1950. The first two minutes of the film are slightly warped due to shrinkage of the film base, but the rest of the film is clear, in frame and in focus. In this season opener, the Green Wave (wearing green jerseys and white pants) faced the Crimson Tide with George Kinek (#20) and Hal Waggoner (#22) replacing Eddie Price as the main ball carriers. Bill Bonar (#11) did most of the quarterbacking, gaining 31 yards on six completions in ten passing attempts. Tulane was outmatched in the game, despite some outstanding defense by Ferd Kibodeaux (#84), Jerome Helluin (#78), Mike McLean (#80), and Ellsworth Kingery (#24). Tulane finally scored in the third and fourth quarters, with touchdowns by Kinek and Al Batson (#15), with conversion kicks by Tommy Comeaux (#65). The eventual 26-14 loss was one of just two in the Green Wave's 6-2-1 season. Shot on double-perf. B+W reversal. B-wind. 1950 Kodak date code.
