Color film of a Tulane football game played in Tulane Stadium against Florida on October 5, 1946. In one of three victories during the season, new coach Henry Frnka put together a team of military veterans to represent the Green Wave. Fresh out of the Navy and starting his football career was New Orleanian Eddie Price. Although Price (#45) played sparingly early in the year (this was the second game of the season), he was the NCAA record holder in career rushing with 3,095 yards by the time he graduated from Tulane four years later. In this silent film, which shows all of the action plays, the Green Wave kicks off to start the game, and later scores on a pass from O.J. Key (#67) to Dick Hoot (#33) to lead 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. After giving up a touchdown to tie the score in the second quarter, the Green Wave rolls on in the second half, with Key scoring once and Price scoring twice, to win the game, 27-13. Hoyt Moncrief (#41) kicks the extra points. Notable plays on defense are made by Vic Klein (#73), Cliff Van Meter (#77), and Melvin Leierer (#96). Shot on double-perf. Color reversal. B-wind.
