Upon orders from Governor Unzaga, the Surveyor General of the Province of Louisiana, Lieutenant Nicolas François Le Grand Chevalier De Bellevüe, accompanied by Captain Verret, Commandant of the Acadian post, proceeded to the property of Jean Savoye to survey the land and establish the proper boundaries. The tract, situated on the Côte des Acadiens on the right bank of the Mississippi, was bounded by lands of Jean Saunier and Pierre Bertaud.
