Surviving footage of a black and white film without sound of a Tulane football game played against LSU in 1940. This film shows the season-finale loss to LSU which produced a 5-5 season. Guard Tommy O'Boyle earned All-America recognition under coach Red Dawson. Unfortunately, most of this film is too severely damaged to make out more than the occasional glimpse of football action. Only the first minute of football footage can be interpreted through the miasma of damage, by using the keyboard space bar to pause on individual frames. Occasionally, some clear shots of the Green Wave can be captured. After a minute of film, the damage becomes too overwhelming and it is all that can be seen. Shot on double-perf. B+W reversal. B-wind. 1940 Kodak date code. You may view the football program of this game at https://digitallibrary.tulane.edu/islandora/object/tulane%3A22951.
