This appears to be an excerpt from a longer video, perhaps a commemoration of the 50th Sugar Bowl game. Black and white newsreel footage with sound begins with a brief historical introduction and then launches into footage of the first Sugar Bowl game, played in New Orleans, Louisiana, on, January 1, 1935. In the inaugural contest, Tulane competed against Temple in 1935 "on a bitterly cold New Year's afternoon." Twenty six thousand people crowded into Tulane's then-small stadium. Claude "Little Monk" Simons played with a broken shoulder in his last game with the team. Includes 18fps footage of the game. The video concludes with an introduction to 1984's Sugar Bowl game, the 50th ever played.
